Spring Has Sprung!

With an upcoming new MMP group art show April 18th, 2015 at FrameHouse in Thousand Oaks and a solo show the month of June at the Buenaventura Art Association's Harbor Gallery entitled "Captivating Coastal," my spring has sprung.  I'm loving this extra hour of daylight later in the day and enjoying warmer mornings out hiking.

Come to the MMP opening April 18th 3-6pm at the FrameHouse Studio (next door to Marcello's and Bean Crazy, who said they'll offer specials just for our guests that afternoon!) on Hillcrest across from Sears). Meet six of the eight award winning Monday Morning Painting gals who will be showing work and see a live painting demo by at least one or two of the members.

Would you like to visit me on Tuesdays in June at the Harbor Gallery off Spinnaker in Ventura from 11am-3pm when I have my solo show and see new seascapes?! There are lots of other artists exhibiting work as well, great food and water activities nearby too (like my favorite, kayaking!)

I donated a piece to the recent Masterpiece Show Auction at Studio Channel Islands SCIART gallery in Camarillo and it was such fun meeting new collectors of my work who live in Agoura and love Carpinteria as much as I do. I hope to see them and you at an upcoming show soon. I'm working on many new oil pieces including loads of boats and always feel extra creative this time of year, do you?!

Another 30 paintings in 30 days and only four more to do to complete the month. Thank you to Leslie Saeta for thinking up this great challenge.  It's a terrific way to up your skill set and get into a daily painting habit. Want to see them? Check out my website www.shannoncelia.com or go to www.seashop.bigcartel.com or my SHANNON CELIA FINE ART page on Facebook.

Over 1200 artists signed up to do January's 2015 challenge and it's encouraging to know that many folks are right there beside you (ok not literally...), passionately doing the same thing all over the WORLD! Here are a few I like: A wave study I did of a painting by Earl Daniels and three originals of mine: CRANE, SUNRISE FERRIS WHEEL & PINK BOAT. I will be spending February doing lots of studies of waves, rocks and skies as well as and plenty of large pieces with my favorite subject matter lately-fishing vessels!
